EuPtSi crystalizes in a cubic structure belonging to the space group P213. The crystal structure of EuPtSi is very similar to that of B20-type chiral magnets represented by MnSi, which has been attracting many interests since the discovery of a peculiar spin texture, "magnetic skyrmion." Recent intensive studies on single crystalline EuPtSi revealed a characteristic HT phase diagram with a phase stabilized by moderate magnetic fields and temperature. This so-called "A-phase" of this compound is of current interest from the viewpoint of several similarities with the skyrmion phase of MnSi. In order to elucidate its magnetic order microscopically, we have performed the resonant X-ray scattering (RXS) on EuPtSi. The high flux RXS signal revealed the single-q helical order in the ground state and the triple-q order in the A-phase, which suggests a kind of magnetic skyrmion states is realized in EuPtSi. We also found that the triple-q order becomes a short-range order within the A-phase. Based on these experimental facts, we will discuss the triple-q magnetic order in the context of magnetic
skyrmion state on which the geometrical frustration may play a crucial role.
